Kaizer Chiefs played at the ground during the 70s, 80s and early 90s. The Phefeni Glamour Boys played their last game at Orlando more than five years ago.

Kaizer Chiefs Chairman, Kaizer Motaung who played in the stadium during the 60s for Orlando High and Orlando Pirates and early 70s for Kaizer Chiefs expressed his delight about the return of the Club to “Isigodi sikaMaminzela”.

“It is, of course, an emotional return not only for me but for multitudes of our fans who watched South Africa’s finest pitting their skills against each other in the 60s to the late 80s.
