Kaizer Chiefs will begin their second round of league fixtures with a trip to the Free State to face sixth placed Bloemfontein Celtic at the Seisa Ramabodou Stadium, in what is sure to be a pulsating Absa Premiership clash on Sunday afternoon.



Chiefs go into the game having won four of their last five games and will be looking to take their points tally for the season past the thirty mark, Celtic have made good ground in the title race recently and come into the game on the back of a 1 – 1 draw with league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.



Recent history



The teams have clashed twice already this season the first occasion was a Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-final clash which Chiefs won 1-0 thanks to a Knowledge Musona goal, when the teams clashed during the first round of the league Chiefs again ran out 1 -0 victors once more courtesy of a Musona goal.



The rivalry between the teams has intensified over the past few seasons and the on field excitement usually sees this clash turning out to be colourful spectacle in the stands with fans adding colour to the occasion. Chiefs have managed to hold the upper hand over Celtic winning three of the last five league clashes between the teams.



Last season Chiefs failed to beat Celtic in the league losing and drawing with them which was the only time that the Amakhosi had not managed at least one win over Celtic in a league season.



Current form



Chiefs have had a good run of late winning four out of their last five league games of the three games that they have played in 2011 the Amakhosi have managed to win two of them.



Celtic meanwhile are unbeaten in 2011 and of their last five league games have drawn three games and won two, Celtic are unbeaten at home in the league this season.



Missing out



Chiefs have been plagued by suspensions recently and they go into this game once again without key players, midfielder Renilwe Letsholonyane will sit out the game as will striker Sthembiso Ngocobo through suspension. Kaizer Motaung JR is also not available after sustaining an injury in the last match. Tinashe Nengomasha and left back Punch Masenamela who missed the midweek victory over Amazulu make a return to the squad, they missed the win over the Usuthu through suspension.
