Mandla Masango and his U-20 teammates received a football lesson this past weekend when they lost 6-1 to Germany.

The camp in Germany was part of preparations for the upcoming U-20 World Cup to be held in Egypt later this month.

Mandla Masango the only representative from Kaizer Chiefs scored the only goal for South Africans.

“It was a good practice match for all of us as the coach gave everyone a chance. He played two different teams in both halves and the score was 2-1 at halftime. The second team lost 4-0,” said Masango.

Meanwhile, Serame Letsoaka speaking in the latest edition of Amakhosi has described Masango as a ‘big player’ ahead of the tournament in Egypt.

“He has a big role to play in our plans. He seemed to have lost form at the end of last season; at about the same time Muhsin Ertugral left the Club. But new coach, Vladimir Vermezovic seems to have put a spark in him. He is now a key player for Kaizer Chiefs, getting regular game in preseason and at the start of the new season, so this can only augur well for him heading to the World Cup.”
