AmaFacebook goes from a virtual world to the real world

Tebogo Makhwelo along with fellow collaborators Jacqualine Kashmra Singh and Simon Davidson founded the AmaFacebook group (named by Shakes Dhlamini) which has already grown to over 700 members globally.

The members of this group play the PSL Fantasy League as AmaFacebook.

What drives this group is their undying passion for Kaizer Chiefs and it forms a bond between them. This fuels a lot of very lively discussion as ‘friends’ air their views.

For those if you that don’t know Facebook, it’s like a room full of coaches!

Whether we win, draw or lose, we always remain Amakhosi - 4 - Life and that is what keeps us together as a Family. We can take the pain of loss but we always look forward to doing better the next time. We believe it is that what it takes to be a winner, and Kaizer Chiefs are winners, both on and off the field. We believe that success comes from having a positive attitude.

The Amakhosi Supporters Club would like to wish Tebogo a very warm welcome to the Family who became a Gold Amakhosi Supporters Club Family member at The Boulders last weekend. Tebogo, your Gold is treasured brother and the Amakhosi Supporters Club looks forward to working closer with the AmaFacebook group as we believe this is the new frontier.

Kaizer Chiefs acknowledges the importance of leaders with a spirit of pioneers and we consider the virtual world an exciting challenge. Kaizer Chiefs therefore actively encourage more and more virtual members to join the Amakhosi Supporters Club and to become part of the real world by being card-carrying members, just like Tebogo.

Tebogo is lobbying to register the AmaFacebook as a fully-fledged Branch and to do this the group needs to achieve a threshold of card-carrying members. He needs your support. In fact Tebogo has said that he wants The AmaFacebook Branch to become the biggest Kaizer Chiefs Branch and he is looking at having having a strong global reach.

The Amakhosi Supporters Club will also be launching a new supporter’s zone called the “CyberVillage” soon, so please keep your eye open for this exciting new addition to the Kaizer Chiefs website within the next few weeks. You will be able to down load an application form and apply on-line.

Please also feel free to join AmaFacebook or simply e-mail supporters@kaizerchiefs.com for more information on where and when you can join.

We are at every home game and have Amakhosi Supporters Centres in Dhlamini at the Dhlamini Sports Complex on Koma Road near the Moroka Police Station on the Old Potch Road and also on the 6th floor of Klamson House, which is opposite the Carlton Centre. We will soon be opening up in Pretoria on the 7th of April at shop C2, Opera Plaza Arcade between Bank Lane and Pretorius Street.

You never know, you may even just bump into us at your local shopping centre in the near future!!!
