The Chiefs player made the short journey from The Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena to Soweto, after training on Monday to make a donation to the home.

In recent times the home has accepted orphaned children from around South Africa and a number of neighbouring countries as well, recent contributors to help with the up keep home of the home have included former South African president Nelson Mandela’s children fund.

Jimmy Tau who participates in a number of social activities in his home town of Kimberley in the Northern Cape, said of his donation to the Orlando Children’s home “I feel that time and again it is important for me to help give back to various lesser privileged persons than myself. Overtime I have been involved in various projects in Kimberley and will in the future be working with the Orlando Children’s home on various projects”.

Martha Lakaje a social worker at the home was grateful to Jimmy for his kind contribution adding “we are thankful to Jimmy for taking time out to make this donation to us. The food will most definitely come in handy and it is always good to have celebrity come and visit us as it really lifts the kids spirits”.
