Kaizer Chiefs reserves will feel slightly disappointed to come away with a 1-1 draw from their DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) Festival clash against Magesi at Mafori Mphlele stadium on Sunday.
Davis Mowaswi gave Amakhosi a halftime lead but they couldn’t hold out and conceded an equaliser in the second half. The point takes their total to 10 after eight rounds, leaving them in seventh place in the league standings. Next up, they face an away trip to Durban City at Chatsworth stadium on Saturday, 1 November, kicking off at 10:00am but before that they will play a friendly match against the South African national U17 team, Amajimbos on Wednesday, 29 October.
In the SAFA Gauteng Development League (GDL), the Club’s academy teams rolled over their Joburg City counterparts, winning all four fixtures in fine style.
The U14s won 3-0, followed by a handsome 6-1 triumph for the U15s. The U17s prevailed by 3-0 and the U19s went one better, turning over their opposition to the tune of 4-0.
This Tuesday, 28 October, the U15s will play a friendly against SuperSport United U15s.
Saturday,1 November marks the final round of the GDL season with the youth development teams taking on Joburg City again, this tie away at the Greek Sporting Club, kicking off at 9:00am.
The following day, the U19s close out the season with a previously postponed make-up fixture against Elspark at the Village, kicking off at 10:00.
