Second phase of ticketing sales for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™: 297,188 applications received in one week.

During the first week of the Second Phase of the Ticketing Sales for 2010 FIFA World Cup™ a total number of 297,188 requests were received (162,844 for Individual Match Tickets, 134,344 for Team Specific Ticket Series).

A total number of 112,616 tickets have been requested by South Africans. However, the highest demand of tickets in other countries came from the United States (US) (44,004 tickets) and in the UK (32,413).

All the applicants who submitted their requests on the first week will be informed until Friday by SMS or per email if their application has been successful (fully or partly).



Applications for the second phase can be made until 16 November 2009 via the FIFA website (www.fifa.com) or at First National Bank (FNB) branches. Tickets will be allocated on a “first come, first serve” basis. Each applicant can apply for up to four tickets per match and up to seven matches in total.

FIFA Confederations Cup 2009:



With 32 days before kick-off of the eagerly anticipated FIFA Confederations Cup 2009, 351,121 tickets have been sold.

Note: The ticket centres in Johannesburg, Rustenburg, Tshwane/Pretoria and Mangaung/Bloemfontein open from 9.00–6.00, seven days a week.

To simplify the process of purchasing tickets, the ‘over-the counter’ initiative was introduced on the first week of May.

To further assist football fans, a Ticketing Call Centre has been established and fans can now call 0832010010 to verify which tickets are still available as well as to book their seat in the FIFA Confederations Cup.
