Tips to Avoid Burnout

Feeling stressed, helpless, disillusioned and completely exhausted? You may be on the verge of burnout. Although burnout is not a medical condition it can have an effect on your well-being.
Signs that you may be on the verge of burnout:
  • Trouble sleeping
  • Lack of concentration 
  • Declining productivity 
  • Loss of appetite 
  • Loss of job satisfaction 
  • Use ( or increased use) of alcohol or drugs 
  • Frequent headaches or stomach complaints 
Here are some tips to re-balance and feel positive and hopeful again:
Tip 1:
Evaluate your options. Discuss concerns with your manager or teacher. Try set up a schedule and highlight any urgent items.


Tip 2:
Set goals for yourself, when you reach these goals it will boost your self-confidence and create a sense of achievement.


Tip 3:
Seek support. Whether you reach out to co-workers, teachers, friends or family; support will help you cope.


Tip 4: 
Try a relaxing activity to adjust your mindset.


Tip 5:
Get a good night's sleep, sleep restores well-being and helps protect your health.

Tip 6:
Physical activity can be an outlet to deal with stress. It can also take your mind off of what is troubling you.

Tip 7:

Be mindful about what is stressing you out. Try focus on your breathing, be aware of what you are feeling and how it can have an effect on you.
